Personal Soul Retrieval

hard times call for extra help

Over the past few weeks I have sat down to write multiple posts for this outlet, to no avail. Write though I have, nothing was coming out right. It all seemed thin and trite. Good for the process of practice, but not so great for outward consumption.

I was supposed to be apart of an online forum later this week into next, but human health concerns have reared their ugly heads and I needed to open up space in my calendar for these other things. However, I thought it best to use the inspiration as it comes. Fortune has a full head of golden mane when she approaches, but leaves us completely bald with nothing to grab hold of.

So, here we are.

If you find yourself feeling beet up from the tumultuous times we are living through, this video might just be for you. We discuss what soul loss is, and how you yourself can retireve those missing parts—and why it matters.

Give it a go. Then, let me know how it lands. Reach out if you have questions, or if you just want to share. I love stories. There is so much magic in the sharing.

Welcome to another Mama's Bear Medicine production.

Recently, I was invited to participate in an online group event and we were tasked with creating a video of our content to share. Life had different plans for me for this month. So, I was unable to produce that for that event, but it seems precient. And so I thought I'd produce this content anyway and offer it to you just in case it's something that you might find valuable at this moment in time.

As you know, there is an upheaval in our world currently and there are a lot of traumatic events unfolding. There are wars and genocides and the retraction of human rights. And you know, I'm sure that if you're watching this video, you don't need me to tally up all of the events of the day.

At the same time that those things are happening, a lot of us are experiencing our own personal grievances. So maybe it's health issues cropping up and maybe it's interpersonal relationships that are strained or causing harm. Whatever it is, there are abundant opportunities to experience what might be considered soul loss.

So if you haven't heard of that term before, there is in certain indigenous cultures the belief that soul loss is really the primary cause of any disease that we might experience in our body. And what soul loss is is actually a biological response to a traumatic event happening. So let's say that we got into a car accident and in the process of that car accident and that trauma there is a piece of our soul that needed to leave the rest of the body in order for the whole of ourselves to be able to survive that event.

Now in a wellf functioning healthy body once that event is over that soul piece finds its way back to us and we get to carry on as a complete individual. However, when things are persistent, when there's long-term traum, you know, trauma occurring, when it's one thing after another, sometimes those soul pieces get lost or they feel it is perpetually unsafe to return to the hole.

And so we can end up walking around with a bunch of like Swiss cheese, a bunch of holes in our spirit body, in our soul, and those holes are where disease takes root. Other ways that it might manifest that soul loss you might recognize as manifesting in your life is dissociation. Particularly chronic dissociation when you find yourself just incapable of actually being present or you feel as though you're kind of living a muted life or a halflife or that your life isn't showing up in technicolor. It's just like black and white.

It might be experienced as a sense of malaise. How else would we experience the feeling of soul loss? Certainly, if you have chronic depression or chronic illness that keeps cropping up, that can be both a source of soul loss and a symptom of soul loss.

These days, many of us, all we have to do is look at our phone and see the news or have an interaction with a troll. Or maybe it's a family member who shocks us with unknown previously unknown personal beliefs. You know, knowing people knowing that we're dropping bombs and whatnot, that's definitely material that could contribute to the experience of soul loss.

And maybe it's nothing in present day. Maybe it's experiences we had as children. Maybe we came into this life already with a degree of soul loss, either epigenetically being passed down from our mom and dad or from past lives.

Whatever it is, you have the power to bring it back. You have the power to heal this for yourself. Isn't that exciting? I think that's very uplifting. And certainly, this is a time I think it would behoove the entire world to have as many spiritually intact humans as can be mustered.

So, I wanted to offer a way that we can all call ourselves back. And this is something that you can take on as personal hygiene, just like brushing your teeth or brushing your hair or taking a shower. Just like all of those things, you can do it once a week, you can do it once a day, you can do it as many times a day as you feel called to do. It certainly won't hurt.

So, how do we do that? How do we call ourselves back? No. No. First of all, a wonderful way to think of soul loss is just to remember the story of Peter Pan, the island of lost boys is the perfect visual for those soul parts. And then what happens?

Let's say you did have a traumatic event when you were a child and your soul left that event and journeyed to the island of lost children. Pinocchio also has that imagery in there in that story. That aspect of self wasn't allowed really the opportunity to come back and grow and mature the way that the rest of us has.

So, there is a piece because of that trauma that is anchored at whatever age it left at. And you know psychologically if you happen to be a therapist then there are technical words for these processes but you will you will see the psychology that that mirrors a lot of this process. It really backs up a lot of these ideas.

So, what we're going to do, you can do this standing up like I am. You can do it seated. You can do it walking around. It doesn't really matter. I'm standing, so I'm going to offer this from a position of uprightness.

We're going to take a couple deep breaths and feel our bodies as deeply as you can breathe comfortably into your belly. Fill up those lungs. Feel the cool breath enter through your nose again if that's possible. If not, feel it through your mouth. It has a different quality when it's entering your body as opposed to when it exits your body and it's warmed and moisturized.

How deeply into your being can you take that breath? Maybe it's just up into your clavicles. Maybe you feel it going through the center of your being, deep down to the bottom of your rib cage. Maybe you feel it all the way deeply into your belly, into your kidneys, in the back.

With each inhale, can you feel your rib cage expand into those little rib bones all the way in your back? Can you feel that breath all the way into your feet? the pads of your feet, the arches of your feet, the tops of your feet.

Maybe after all of these breaths, you'd like to hold it and feel the strain. The kitties are jittering. My buddy up here, I have a family of ravens who likes to join me every day.

If you've taken that breath in and you have decided to hold it for a few seconds just let it out now. Feel the shift in your energy. Feel what happens physically to your body. Is there a relief? Is there a tingle? Do you want to hold the breath as it's released from your body for just a few seconds?

Notice anything that shifts on this next inhale. Close your eyes or just turn your gaze inward, however you feel comfortable.

And as we move into a very deliberate relaxed measure of breath, notice that there is a star shining directly overhead. As you focus on that star, it grows brighter and brighter and brighter until that star is shining as brightly as the sun.

This is your star. And maybe you identify that star with an astral body in our known universe. Maybe it's the sun of our solar system. Maybe it's a different planetary body. Maybe it's Alcion, the central star of the Pletes. Maybe it's one we have yet to identify. And maybe it's just the star of your personal being.

Whatever it is, on the next breath, you notice that that star starts to pour into the top of your head, the crown chakra. It opens up and starts to flood your being with its astral light.

And every moment that you are paying attention to this flood, every moment that it is allowed to infuse your being, you notice that each and every cell of your body absorbs this liquid crystalline green white light. Every cell of your being is like, a sponge thirsty for your light.

Just breathe that in.

And when you're ready, I want you to speak out loud.

It is safe to be here now.

It is safe to be in my body right now.

Any pieces that have left,

I call you back now.

with love and deep understanding.

If you are ready,

if you are ready, I call you back now. I need you and you need me.

We can only operate at our highest function

when we are together and when we are whole.

I need you. Please come back. It is safe.

And when you feel complete, when you feel that all of the pieces who are ready to serve you again in this moment have had the time to come back and integrate into your being. It doesn't need to take a long time, but sometimes it does.

Say thank you. Do you hear the kitties chittering? The raven just came down to feast on my spirit plates. Say thank you and offer gratitude to yourself.

This is yourself in its infinite wisdom doing exactly what it was designed to do to help you survive. This is your body and your being functioning perfectly. And this is also how we can call ourselves back in this moment in time.

So if you feel complete, open your eyes. Flutter them open gently. Turn your gaze outward again.

Just take a moment to wrap up this process with gratitude. Gratitude for you, gratitude for your being, gratitude for yourself, gratitude for your wholeness, and gratitude for our wonderful world. Because it's not all bad. In fact, there's a lot of it that isn't bad at all. It's quite enjoyable and very, very lovely.

We didn't just incarnate in the flesh to learn lessons. We came here to experience all of it. the joy and the beauty and the love and the cohesion and the the community and all of the other stuff too.

So, you can do this as many times a day as you feel you want to or you need to. I like to do this in times like these every night before I go to bed, every morning when I wake up and throughout the day if I happen to find myself endlessly doom scrolling looking for salvation at the end of my feed.

That is an indication that I need to take a moment and put the phone down, step into the sun, drink a glass of water, and call myself back. Feel my feet on the floor, feel myself rooted into the earth.

And just ask whoever is ready to serve me, whatever pieces are ready to come back at this moment in time. I call myself back with gratitude.

I hope that's helpful. I might do more of these if you find it helpful. Feel free to leave any comments or questions about this process connected to this video.

I'm thinking about you. I love you. And keep the faith.
