Religious Jargon

why i am refusing to pretzle my language any longer

I shared a few weeks back that stuff was about to get real weird up in here. Part of that is letting my spiritual self out of the bag. I will no longer be couching my random thoughts in language that is either approachable to scientific atheists, nor trying to avoid offense to the delicate sensibilities of the Christian persuasion. I will be attempting to share these musings using easy and established dialect. So there. (she said mostly to herself…)

Religious Jargon.

Part of what I've been experiencing in the aftermath of the Mary Magdalene pilgrimage that I just took at the end of May has been a reckoning with, well in many ways, myself and the work that I'm here to do in this life.

I sat down to write a social media post that was coming up about making prayers at the Sundance Tree so many years ago. I've supported some Sundances over the years with the Lakota people, the Osheti Shikawi, the Seven Council Fires. I try not to call them the Sioux because it's a derogatory term and I don't like to use it. I don't like to use it.

Anyway, that's a different topic for a different time. and it's Sundance season right now the Sundance is from my practices held over and around summer solstice and it is the New Year's celebration in a way for the Plains Indians here in the United States you know and that's also As a side note, that is also a funny delineation because, of course, the Seven Council Fires, those tribes, they did not stick to specifically U.S. borders. So I digress.

For a long time, as you might know, I have had an enormous chip on my shoulder about monotheistic Abrahamic monotheism in particular, in general, but in particular Christianity and that particular flavor of Abrahamic monotheism, probably just because I grew up in America and it's been forced down my throat my whole life. So I have long had a real aversion to the spiritual language that is the Christian dialect.

And even, I don't know, was it this year or last year, I was working with one of the coaches in my life, one of my mentors in business. Well, not just business. As it turns out, she was the woman who led the Magdalene Priestess Training, who was leading the Magdalene Priestess Training. um as well and she referred to me as a spiritual coach a spiritual mentor and i had a really big reaction to that when we were having our vip day together one-on-one session i was like i don't i don't know that i'm that i agree with that i will i will claim to be a philosophical advisor uh you know woo woo weirdo I teach people how to access the path of direct revelation but I am not a spiritual advisor.

And I've also felt very conflicted about you know like I said that There's so many of the topics that I want to speak on in my life that I feel passionate and compelled to give voice to and yet I'm trying to either contort myself in what I view as predominantly Christian spaces to ensure that I don't um offend delicate sensibilities but also i'm trying not to use a common language and it's to convey these very similar thoughts and it's just exhausting.

So part of what i'm i've been reconciling inside of myself now on the other side of this pilgrimage and having experienced um you know things that I still just can't comprehend quite frankly I've basically just said fuck it I'm gonna use the word God and you'll just have to apply the meaning however you apply the meaning in your life and in your own heart.

I'm gonna be sharing more about deeply spiritual things for lack of a better term I think that's the scientific term anyway the Latin the Latin term because actually yes I'm I'm a philosophical nerd I love to discuss philosophy if you ever want to jump in here and discuss philosophy with me please please please I'd be so happy to nerd out with you and to learn more I am sure but really a primary driver in my life since I was knee high to a grasshopper has been in Viktor Frankl's terms man's search for meaning it's been my own spiritual quest honestly since I mean that's what got me to go to those Latin Catholic ceremonies of masses with my best friend down the street as i was growing up i was very young i was single digits um and then got me going to the what were those things so many of you know them better than i do the teen and preteen um like adventure camps or whatever that they used to do with uh churches I don't know why I'm blanking on the name right now silly goose it is an inner drive I think I talked about in the last voice note how I was a love addict for so long and that very much has been part of my spiritual quest it was this combination of both Being a deeply spiritual woman and also really, really, really wanting to find a loving partnership in this life and to walk with a man through this life.

For me, it's a man. For you, who knows? Maybe it's multiple lovers. Maybe it's everything and everything and nothing. maybe it's the alchemical marriage within but for me it was it was the drive to find external partnership that was you know more than just a best friend and that combined with a spiritual path now of course isn't that the foundations of tantra the tantric path yes indeed it is and also why why keep myself so limited because of my own fears and judgments I mean well that's why that is exactly why but on this side of this recent pilgrimage I have just decided to throw it all to the wind and embrace the woman who i am so that i can share with you more and more and more of this medicine that is mama bear medicine that is this practice over here in my little shamanic she shed in my healing hut oh and i just learned a new one in my zen den isn't it just isn't it just so um if you're down if you're down for that kind of thing then let's hang out in august you know i'm gonna be doing 30 days of voice notes for you um so come come get to know me a little bit better and uh if you're up for it I would love some engagement I'm so down to hear your thoughts.

I don't know if you can send me voice notes maybe you can you might have to do it privately now I am not open to yuck but I am open to yum so maybe I should check my boundaries first before just offering that willy nilly however i am very interested in getting to know you as well so um yeah leave me a note let me know what you think about any of these things that i'm talking about let me know if there's anything that you want to hear my thoughts and opinions on i guess um any subjects we should talk about with each other that would be fun all right until next time.

I'll see ya.
